This article will give you a walkthrough on how to place a buy order. The screenshots have been labeled with numbers as reference.
First, go to the trading tab(1) and select the currency pair you would like to trade(2). In this example, Bitcoin will be traded for Ethereum so select ETH/BTC(3).
Before the buy order is placed, it might be helpful to see what is happening in the market. One way to do this is to look at the Order Book and see what other orders are currently waiting to be filled. In this example, there is a sell order which is looking to sell 0.00677877 ETH(10) at the price of 0.043646 BTC(11).
To place the buy order, you need to go to the Buy and Sell section and click on Buy ETH(9).
First, enter the amount you want to buy(13). In this example, the amount entered is 0.00677877 ETH to match the amount in the sell order(10). Next, enter the bid(14), to do this, copy the asking price from the order book(11) and paste it into the bid area.
Now that the amount of ETH and bid price have been entered, you can see how much BTC will be remaining in the BTC wallet after this trade has been completed(12). You'll also see the bid price in USD [or your preferred currency](15), the trading fee applied to trade(16), and the total amount of BTC spending(17).
Then, click "Buy ETH" and the order is sent off. Because the order matched with one already in the order book, it went through instantly. You can see the status of my orders in the My Orders tab(8).
And that's it! Remember, crypto-asset transactions cannot be reversed once they have been completed. Please ensure you’ve entered the correct transaction details before placing any orders.
